Overview
Describe the dashboard you want in plain English and DataGenie builds it - the right KPIs, charts, and breakdowns - then reshapes and refines it as you keep talking.
The Conversational Dashboard is where you describe the dashboard you want in plain English and DataGenie builds it - the right KPIs, the right charts, the right breakdowns - as one board. One plain-language ask can lay out a whole business review; then you keep talking to reshape widgets, add breakdowns, and narrow the scope. It is powered by the same agentic analytics engine as Wisdom, so every widget carries a real, verified answer - not a static picture.
Every number on a widget comes from a deterministic analytical service - not from a language model - and your raw data never reaches an LLM. Each widget stores a recipe, not a screenshot, so a refresh, a filter, or a date change recomputes the exact same trusted numbers. See Responsible AI.
How the Conversational Dashboard works
Open a new board and pick your dataset
Go to Dashboards and create a new board on the dataset you want to analyze. Each board works on a single dataset, so the whole story stays consistent.
Describe the dashboard you want
In the board's prompt box, describe the board in plain English - the metrics, the period, the breakdowns you care about. One ask like "Create a weekly business review covering revenue, conversion rate, and ATB rate for the important dimensions" lays out the whole board at once. No SQL, no exact column names.
Watch the board build
DataGenie plans the work, fetches and verifies each number through its analytical services, and lays out the widgets - KPI tiles, trends, breakdowns, and rate charts - scoped exactly to what you asked. Multi-metric asks decompose cleanly into one focused widget per metric rather than one crowded chart.
Reshape and refine by talking
Keep the conversation going. Reshape a chart from the widget's own controls or just describe the change ("make this a bar chart"). Add a widget with "Add a widget showing...", or open a widget's edit control and ask for a change - with Undo if you change your mind.
Filter, share, and drill in
Apply board-level filters and a period, and every widget recomputes together. Share the board with the same role-based controls as Briefs, and click any widget to drop into the underlying Wisdom answer with its full context intact.
The more specific your ask, the sharper the board. Naming the period, the metrics, and the markets - "a QBR for Q4 2023 covering revenue, conversion rate, and how the United States and United Kingdom are doing" - gives DataGenie a clear scope, so it returns rates as percentages, the right quarter, and a real country breakdown, ready to present unedited.
What you can ask it to build
Describe the board the way you would brief a colleague. A single ask builds every widget - you do not add them one at a time.
Business review
"Create a weekly business review covering revenue, conversion rate, and ATB rate for the important dimensions."
Quarterly board (QBR)
"Create a QBR for Q4 2023 covering revenue performance, conversion rate, and how our top markets - United States and United Kingdom - are doing."
Trading review
"Build a trading review for the week - sessions, revenue, and conversion rate, compared to the prior week."
Funnel diagnosis
"Show me the full checkout funnel for last week - where did people drop off?"
Each metric lands on its own widget, and each rate is shown as a percentage - not a raw count. A trading-review ask keeps volume and rate on separate widgets, each with its own week-over-week delta; a funnel ask shows every stage as a count and its rate, so the sharpest drop-off is visible at a glance.
Reshape and edit any widget
You do not leave the board to change it. Every widget can be reshaped three ways, and the whole board responds to a plain-language ask.
Change the chart type
Open a widget's Chart Type control and switch how it is drawn - bar, line, pie, table. Reshaping changes the representation only; the values stay the same.
Describe the change
Say what you want in the board prompt box - "make this a bar chart" - and DataGenie reshapes the widget in place.
Edit by talking
Open a widget's edit control and ask for a change to that one widget - add a dimension, switch the metric - with Undo on hand.
You can also expand a widget to full screen, switch it to the table / underlying-data view to read the exact numbers, or remove it from the board with a confirm step. Every widget offers a "How this widget is calculated" explainer so you can see the recipe behind the number.
Board controls, filters, and sharing
Board filters
Apply dimension filters - for example Country and Visitor Type - and a Period or date range. Every widget recomputes together and consistently; clear a filter and the board restores.
Narrow by prompt
A prompt like "Show only Q4 2023" narrows the whole board at once, rather than adding a new widget. Phrase it "Add a widget showing..." when you want a new tile instead.
Share with roles
Keep a board Private, share it with named people, or open it to everyone on the dataset - the same role-based access controls used across DataGenie.
Deep click-through
Click any widget to open the underlying Wisdom answer, scoped to that widget, so you can trace every number back to its source and keep asking.
Because each widget stores a deterministic recipe rather than a stored prompt or a static image, reloading a board, changing its period, or applying a filter reproduces identical numbers every time - and a widget always matches the Wisdom answer it came from.
